Lulu & Keiko – Demons on your shoulder
The demons on our shoulders see things our consciousness overlooks. They make us want things without even noticing it. Shot @ Art Space 呼応co-oh.
Keiko – The break-through
Our lives are full of impressions that show their silhouette but which we can never clearly see. While the barrier that needs to be broken is often thin, we hesitate to actually tear it down even a little to get a truthful point of view of the other side. This image tries to convey the emotional impact of a break through such a barrier. The red fabric is concealing most of the body while the eye is being revealed through a hand-made hole, not to actually open a big passage but just to be able to see the other side. Just as in real life, the break-through is not hard to made, but has to be made by ourselves and often exposes us just as the other side. There is a risk of both sides feeling naked. Keiko – Pink dream
Soft colors where chosen on this photo to pull the focus on the eyes and to balance the outlines of the body. The diagonal angle underlines the weightlessness of dreams and the presence of the face underlines the dreams ego-centrist emotions. Shot @ Art Space 呼応co-oh.
Keiko – Listen to the stars
Visual impacts, just as these photos, are easy to look at but also easy to forget. the challenge is to attempt a multi-sensory perception of visual media in order to deepen the impression and fully enjoy a lasting emotion. The lights in this image, while representing the stars, are in the face of the model to symbolize the immediacy of the visual media we are exposed to but still do not manage to immerse ourselves into the experience. Keiko – Caught in a web of lies
While we try to escape the web, we need to tear apart the protective fabric that has changed our color and texture. Lies might make us look more colorful and cover up our naked vulnerabilities. Once the web starts to rip, it quickly turns into a mere husk as it’s not filled with the body anymore and thus exposes the superficiality created by it. Shot @ Art Space 呼応co-oh
Lulu – Shed your Skin
There is an immense pleasure when we start to feel the effect of our old layers peeling away. The fresh feeling of the old skin falling away is giving us the freedom to rediscover ourselves. If the movement to escape the old skin is too slow however, we risk of losing the benefit of rapid change. Shot @ Art Space 呼応co-oh.
Keiko – Landscape
Changes in texture between skin and clothes mimic the different surfaces of landscapes and still seem to fit together as they were meant to be as they are. Shooting a body as a landscape imposes the challenge to be not too sexual or focusing on very small parts of the body. Shot @ Art Space 呼応co-oh
Keiko – Freedom
The long fabric is wrapping around the model while she is dancing with it. The final shot liberates her from the embrace with a forceful movement in which she is herself pulled off her feet. The liberating movement of such encompassing influences requires us to destabilize ourselves. Shot @ Art Space 呼応co-oh
